Two rooms, so we know what they cost

Kitchens and bathrooms are the only rooms we have built since 2009. Every trade we book and every supplier we buy from works on the same two rooms, so we know what things cost and how long they take.

It is why the date we give you in the first week is usually the date you get the room back.

Kitchens

A Chinook Ridge kitchen is a full renovation. We take the room back to the studs, correct whatever the last sixty years did to it, and fit cabinetry built for your house rather than adapted from stock sizes. These brackets come from real Calgary invoices, with labour, permits and our fee included.

Bathrooms

An ensuite, a main bath and a powder room are quoted and scheduled differently. Two quotes a long way apart are often not describing the same work.

Every wet area gets a bonded sheet membrane, then we plug the drain and flood the pan for twenty four hours. You keep the photographs of the water line. If it has moved, the membrane comes out and goes back in at our cost.

How a job runs

Each stage carries the timeline we quote you in the first week. Your lead carpenter sends a photograph at the end of every working day.

ConsultationNinety minutes in your home, usually within a week of your call.
Design and quoteThree to five weeks, revisions included. Nothing is ordered until you sign.
BuildKitchens six to nine weeks, bathrooms three to four.
HandoverDeficiency list closed within ten working days, then the warranty starts.

Chinook Ridge started in 2009 with a used van and one bathroom in Killarney. Dave has been on the tools since 1998, and he still runs your consultation and writes your quote.

The specialism came out of one bad year. In 2008 he was superintendent on a whole-house job, running a kitchen, a basement suite, a garage slab and a deck in the same week. The kitchen was the only part of that house he was satisfied with, so he dropped everything except the two rooms he wanted to keep doing.
